Greg Smith, P. Geo.
President & Chief Executive Officer, Director
Mr. Smith, P.Geo. is an exploration geologist with more than 25 years of experience. He has worked for both junior and senior mining companies in various parts of the world which has included the management of multi-million dollar work programs that have been successful in outlining more than 10 million ounces of gold. Greg brings a broad range of experience from the evaluation of grass roots properties to supervision of advanced projects including resource and reserve estimation, oversight of geological and technical activities for active underground and open pit mining operations including grade control, QA/QC programs and NI43-101 compliance, and advanced technical and economic studies including Preliminary Assessments (Scoping Studies), Prefeasibility, and Feasibility Studies.
Mr. Ball joined Goldcorp in May 2013, as Executive Vice-President of Projects and Capital Management, and in December 2014 was appointed Executive Vice-President of Corporate Development and Capital Projects. He served as Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice-President of Corporate Development from March 2016 to October 2017. Prior to joining Goldcorp, Mr. Ball served as Executive Vice-president and Chief Financial Officer of Newmont. Over his 19 years with Newmont, Mr. Ball worked in internal audit, finance, treasury, operations/project and investor relations before joining the executive team as Chief Financial Officer. Prior to Newmont, Mr. Ball was a manager with PricewaterhouseCoopers in Durban, South Africa. He qualified as a chartered accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of South Africa and as a certified public accountant in Colorado.
Douglas Forster, B.Sc., M.Sc., P.Geo.
Mr. Forster has been associated with the mining and oil and gas industries for the past 28 years. He holds a B.Sc. (1981) in Geology and a M.Sc. (1984) in Economic Geology from the University of British Columbia, Canada. Mr. Forster has extensive experience and a proven track record in resource project development, mergers and acquisitions, equity finance and public company management. He has been a founder, senior executive and/or director of 12 publicly traded companies listed on North American Stock Exchanges. For almost three decades Mr. Forster has been involved in creating wealth for North American and International investors through natural resource discovery, exploration and development. Mr. Forster is a registered member of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia.
Most recently Blayne Johnson was Founder, Director and Executive VP of Newmarket Gold Inc. which operated three gold mines in Australia with annual production of over 225,000 oz/year. Newmarket was acquired by Kirkland Lake Gold in November, 2016 for $1 Billion. Blayne has been a respected member of the investment community for over 30 years and has extensive experience in Capital Markets, financial structuring, mergers & acquisitions. During his tenure as Vice President at First Marathon Securities the firm participated in over $5 Billion of equity financings for junior resource companies. Mr. Johnson was also involved as a Founder of Terrane Metals that was purchased by Thompson Creek in 2010 for $650 million. He is currently Founder and Lead Director of Calibre Mining Corp and Chairman of Featherstone Capital.
Edward Farrauto, CGA
Mr. Farrauto has 17 years of experience as a senior financial officer in private and public companies. His experience encompasses financial and regulatory compliance and public company management. Mr. Farrauto has been directly responsible for overseeing private placement financings, prospectus filings, reverse takeovers and merger and acquisition transactions. He has extensive experience with U.S. filings including SEC clearance and reporting issuers.
Mr. Salamis has previously held senior management positions with well-established mining & mining exploration companies, most notably Placer Dome Inc. and Cameco Corporation, in addition to his successful formation and management of several junior mining companies listed in Europe and North America. Mr. Salamis has over 20 years experience directing the exploration, development and mining operations of a number of gold, base metal and coal projects in many different regions of the world. In recent years, he has also played an integral role, both executive and non-executive, in several large M&A transactions valued at over $US 1 billion and significant financing initiatives, raising over $US 800 million in equity financing for various resource companies. Mr. Salamis holds a degree in Geology from the Universite de Montreal - Ecole Polytechnique.
Mr. Threlkeld is a seasoned mining professional with more than 32 years of experience in mineral exploration, mine operations and construction and executive management. Most recently Ray was President and CEO of Rainy River Resources that was developing the 4.0 million ounce Rainy River gold deposit in Ontario. New Gold purchased Rainy River for $310 million in 2013. From 2006 to 2009 Ray led the team along with Randall Oliphant that acquired, developed and put into operation the Mesquite gold mine in California with Western Goldfields subsequently being purchased by New Gold for $314 million in 2009. From 1996 to 2004 Ray held a variety of senior executive positions with Barrick Gold Corporation rising to the position of Vice President, Project Development. During Ray’s tenure at Barrick he was responsible for placing more than 30 million ounces of gold resources into production in Africa, South America and Australia. Among his accomplishments were the Pierina Mine in Peru, Bulyanhulu Mine in Tanzania, Veladero Mine in Argentina, Lagunas Norte Mine in Peru and the Cowel Mine in Australia. Mr. Threlkeld holds a B.Sc. degree in Geology from the University of Nevada.
Mr. Hurst has over 25 years of experience in the mining/resource industries having acted as geologist, consultant, mining analyst, and senior executive. Mr. Hurst holds a Bachelor of Science in geology from McMaster University (1986). He was a mining analyst with McDermid St. Lawrence and Sprott Securities and a contract analyst to Pacific International Securities and Octagon Capital up until 1995. From 1995 to 2003 Mr. Hurst operated D.S. Hurst Inc. a company offering corporate, evaluation and financing consulting services to the mining industry. He was a founding executive of International Royalty Corporation from 2003 to 2006 and a director of the company until 2010 when the company was purchased by Royal Gold for $700 million.

Ryan King brings an established approach to business in the natural resource sector, with specific and targeted applications for delivering shareholder value in the mining industry. Ryan has over 15 years of experience in increasingly senior capacities in capital markets in the resource sector and was responsible for leading the investor relations activities for Newmarket Gold, as the company completed a $2 billion transformational merger with Kirkland Lake Gold. Before joining Newmarket Gold, Ryan was involved in starting Terrane Metals which acquired the Mount Milligan Copper-Gold Project in British Columbia. From 2006 through to 2010 Mr. King was involved in financing, corporate development, all investor relation activities and assistance with the acquisition of Terrane Metals in 2010 by Thompson Creek for $800 million. During his career, Ryan has assisted in raising $250 million for previous companies. Ryan holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Royal Roads University in British Columbia, Canada, he currently sits on the board of Pinecrest Resources, Edgewater Exploration and is the Vice President of Calibre Mining.

Darren Hall has over 30 years of experience in the mining industry and has a proven to be a successful and trusted leader through his operational accomplishments. He has a proven track record of increasing production, reducing operating costs, improving capital effectiveness and promoting health, safety and business excellence. Darren joined Newmarket Gold in 2015 and was responsible for maintaining a strong foundation of quality gold production, yielding record operational results. Newmarket Gold was merged with Kirkland Lake Gold in a $1.0 billion transaction in 2016. Prior to joining Newmarket Gold, Darren worked for Newmont Mining Corporation where he held roles of increasing responsibility throughout the organization for almost 30 years. Under his leadership as Group Executive Operations for Newmont Asia Pacific, Darren managed a team of 14,000 employees producing 1.8 million ounces of gold annually from six operating mines across three countries. He also worked with Newmont in Peru, Indonesia and the United States and in Australia as General Manager of the Boddington Gold Mine where he led a team of 1,800 employees producing 750,000 ounces of gold annually. Darren graduated with a Bachelor of Mining Engineering (Hons) from the Western Australia School of Mines in Kalgoorlie. Mr. Hall currently serves as Principal of HallMining Services.
Hon John Reynolds, P.C.
Mr. Reynolds career includes substantial experience in venture capital development, consumer products marketing, resource sector development and elected political office, both federal and provincial. Mr. Reynolds began his career in the sales and marketing field but has spent the last 35 years in the political arena, with a career that includes the positions of Member of Parliament; Minister of the Environment for BC; and Official opposition House Leader for the Conservative Party, to name a few. John was appointed as a Senior Strategic Advisor to Lang Michener law firm in Vancouver and has been appointed as a member of the Queen’s Privy Council for Canada.
